How many irrigation zones does SprinkleSmarter support?
SprinkleSmarter supports up to 20 independent irrigation zones. Each zone has its own schedule, run duration, and watering days. If you currently use two or more controllers to cover more than 8 or 12 zones, SprinkleSmarter replaces them all with a single unit.
Do I need a monthly subscription to use SprinkleSmarter?
No. SprinkleSmarter is a one-time purchase — no subscription, no monthly fees, no account required. The software runs on hardware you own, so your system keeps working regardless of what happens to us.
Will SprinkleSmarter work if my internet goes out?
Yes. SprinkleSmarter runs entirely on your local WiFi network. Scheduled watering happens automatically whether or not you have an internet connection. The only feature that requires internet access is weather-aware scheduling, which downloads local weather data to automatically adjust run times after rainfall.
Is SprinkleSmarter compatible with my existing sprinkler system?
Yes, in almost all cases. SprinkleSmarter is designed as a drop-in replacement for any irrigation system that uses standard 24VAC solenoid valves — which covers the vast majority of residential systems installed in the US. If your current controller uses standard zone wiring, SprinkleSmarter will work with it.
What devices can I use to control SprinkleSmarter?

How hard is it to install SprinkleSmarter?

Nothing changes. Your controller keeps working exactly as it always has. SprinkleSmarter does not require any connection to our servers to operate. Your irrigation schedules are stored locally on the device, on hardware you own.
Does SprinkleSmarter work with Alexa, Google Home, or other smart home platforms?
Not currently. SprinkleSmarter is a standalone local system — it doesn't connect to voice assistants or third-party smart home hubs. Control is via its own browser-based interface on your WiFi network. This is intentional: it keeps the system simple, private, and independent.
